No high-pitched screams. No tiny humans running around. No sloshing about in the pools. There are many perks to staying at an adults-only resort, and these are only some of them. Those of us who have had the privilege, know that such resorts are generally more peaceful and less stressful. They have fewer restrictions too.
One of these luxurious adults-only resorts is just the ticket if you’re looking for the ultimate R&R, snoozing on the beach, floating aimlessly in the pool or just having a nice, quiet lunch. Get ready for the good life.
The Royal Playa del Carmen
Palatial is the word that comes to mind when one thinks of The Royal Playa del Carmen. The adults-only resort 45 minutes from the Cancun Airport boasts modern Mexican hacienda flair, stunning pools, and spacious suites each flourished with an in-room Jacuzzi, an ocean-facing balcony and a hammock. Its sprawling grounds are dotted with outdoor sculptures as well as complimentary cabanas, its restaurants are most excellent, and its spa simply luxurious. Yet as romantic as it is, it’s also conveniently located—mere steps from the beautiful beach and the busy Avenida Cinco.
Luxury Bahia Cayo Levantado
Ever stayed on a semi-private island? A few minutes’ boat ride away from the town of Samana in the Dominican Republic, the small isle of Cayo Levantado is famed for being home to one of the best beaches in the province. It’s also home to the exquisite Luxury Bahia Cayo Levantado, an all-inclusive, adults-only resort that radiates exclusivity despite being very affordable. Every suite here—furnished with white marble flooring, canopy beds, and pillow and scent menus—is splendid; and every a la carte restaurant is formidable. A stay at this resort is synonymous with true island escape, one that comes with your very own butler.
Club Med Zen Oasis
Zen Oasis is a resort within a resort. This recently opened adults-only area in the amazing Club Med Punta Cana allows guests complete access to the rest of the all-inclusive property. This means you can enjoy all the land and water activities this resort is famous for. These include the absolutely fantastic CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil, where you can try your hand at acrobatic bungee, trampoline, trapeze and aerial silk tissue under the guidance of Cirque du Soleil-trained crew. But even better, you can later go back to Zen Oasis where you can relax in a glorious beach bed on a secluded, adults-only beach or lounge by the adults-only lagoon pool. It’s the best of both worlds.
UNICO 20 87
This adults-only paradise tucked into the Riviera Maya coast hasn’t officially opened yet, and it’s already creating a lot of buzz. It’s hard not to with all its promising features: breathtaking ocean views, outdoor hydro spa tubs on room balconies, gastronomic experiences, a cigar lounge, and not just one but two swim up bars. The resort also promises daily pop-up activities so there’s never a dull moment. Best of all, guests have a local host available 24-hours a day to provide personalized service. UNICO 20 87 doesn’t open until March 2017, but they’re already offering discounted pre-opening rates for early birds who want to be among the first to stay there.
Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall
This beachfront, all-inclusive property hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Montego Bay is designed for both pampering and partying. A massage right on the beach, a massive pool to swim in all day and even a personal butler if you were to stay in one of the Butler Suites: they guarantee all the pampering you deserve. The impressive water shows, pool dance-offs and delicious cocktails at the swim-up bar, on the other hand, make sure you’re having a great time. The restaurants are fantastic as well; risk running into squealing kids at neighboring Hyatt Ziva to pop into Barefoot JerkZ as their barbecue jerk chicken is more than worth it. http://www.travelpulse.com/
