HAWAIIAN AIRLINES
Founded in 1929 during the days of the amphibian Sikorsky biplane, Hawaiian Airlines was the first air carrier in the Pacific territory. It is the oldest and largest Hawaiian carrier serving the islands of Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island of Hawaii from its Honolulu hub. It provides daily flights to and from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, and Portland, Oregon, daily services to six Hawaiian Islands, and a weekly service to the South Pacific destinations of Tahiti and American Samoa. In its 70-year history, Hawaiian Airlines has carried more than 100 million passengers without a single air fatality.

In 1993, it entered into a series of marketing and services agreements with American Airlines' parent AMR Corp. As a result, Hawaiian converted its reservation and operating computer system to American's SABRE system, and became a participating carrier in American's AAdvantage Travel Awards program.

Hawaiian is replacing its wide-body fleet of DC-10 with 767-300ER aircraft for its long-haul flights and replacing its DC-9 aircraft with Boeing 717 for its inter-island flights.

Some say it's the best food they've ever had anywhere, let alone on an airline. Delicious creations like Chilled Ginger Shrimp, Luau-Style Mahi Mahi, and Herbed Orange Roughy with Garlic Black Bean Sauce will tempt your palate and challenge your image of airplane food.

Each of the Hawaiian Islands offers its own special charm. To experience all Hawaii has to offer at an affordable price, HA offers visitors the Hawaiian Island Pass. An Island Pass provides unlimited inter-island jet travel on Hawaiian Airlines. The Hawaiian Island Pass is offered to nonresidents of the State of Hawaii for five-day, seven-day, ten-day and fourteen-day travel periods. Travel is unlimited within those consecutive days. For example, if you purchase the five-day pass and activate it on Monday, you can fly inter island as many times as you'd like through Friday. Also, Hawaiian Airlines has a promotion that includes a 5% discount for buying tickets online.

Hawaiian has been rated one of the "10 Best" U.S. airlines by readers of CondŽ Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure for the past several years and also won Best Overall honors in the "Premium" category of the 2001 Zagat Survey of U.S. airlines.
