OLYMPIC
AIRWAYS
Olympic is the national airline of Greece
operating services to cities and islands in Greece and
to destinations throughout Africa, Asia, Australia,
Europe, the Middle, Near and Far East, and North and
South America.
Olympic Airways' new
Airbus A340-300 aircraft are fitted with satellite
communication systems that enable travelers make
telephone calls. The in-seat telephones are available
in Business Class. Wall-mounted phones are available
in Economy Class. Business Class seats on the Airbus
A340 are modern and comfortable, with a 40in/101cm
pitch, lumbar support, head and foot rests, and are
equipped with telephones and an entertainment system
offering 8 video channels and 12 audio
channels.
Economy Class offers
the same entertainment system available in Business
Class, but with smaller seat back video screens and
seats with a 32in/81cm pitch. Olympic's international
flights are nonsmoking.
Passengers have little
good to say about Olympic Airways, which has a rating
only just above Aeroflot. There is the Mediterranean
laissez-faire attitude, which does not please
travelers who say it translates into rotten security,
discourteous flight attendants, poor service and food,
and pilots who think they're cowboys.
