London LHR to Edinburgh
Lunch: "One packet of two stem ginger biscuits. Nice
and crunchy. BMI have a choice of two wines: white or
red. Both are Castello MonteVibianno. The white is an
Grechetto. The red is a Cabernet Sauvignon. Both were
drinkable, if not particularly exciting. But then
again the ticket only cost £25,
so I can't complain. BMI have scrapped in-flight meals
for economy for all internal UK flights, and European
short haul."
London LHR to Edinburgh
Breakfast: Sausage with eggs and tomato. "The most
disgusting airline food I have ever laid my eyes on. A

vinaigrette., with a cold potato salad. With this
there was a choice of marinated chicken breast(pic)
and a grilled shrimps stuff.... For desert a blueberry
tart, with whipped cream. a selections of hot rolls,
twice and chocolate
on the tray. Not bad for a two hour flight I think.
The salad was fresh, and the chicken well cooked, but
not dry. And the cake, was very good for an airline
cake to be."

London LHR to Singapore
Dinner: Beef Strips, a few potatoes and string beans
in a thick sauce. Plus a hot roll, salad (with extra
vinegar+oil dressing) a chocolate desert, and a dairy
milk chocolate. The wine was Jackob's Creek Australian
Chardonay, which was rather bitter compared to the
ground based ones - there was also on offer some
sparking Carrington's Australian Brut which was great.
But don't go near the English "Chapel Down" white
wine, which was foul! "This is one of the best meals
I've had on BA in a long time, and is much better than
their "All Day Deli" on internal flights. Really
tasty, even at gone midnight local time, it made the
13 hour flight wizz by. To start with you get an
appetizer of Pfeiffers Bread Sticks and a spirit
drink, then starting off with the salad it was fresh
and crunchy - rather too much lettuce with just a few
peppers, but the little dressing "bottle" (in plastic)
really made a difference. Then the main meal of beef
was very good, nice and tender with lots of flavour.
Desert was rather ickly, but there were continual
offers of more bread rolls. Alternative meal on offer
was fish."
Breakfast: "A full English breakfast, with sausage, 4
bacon strips, scrambled egg, 4 mushrooms
and tomato. Plus a yoghurt, roll (& marmalade) and
(oddly!) a fairy cake. Coffee or tea., plus orange
juice & water on the tray. Wine or spirits were
also offered, but I didn't see anyone take them up on
it. BA really do mean what they say about a free bar
throughout the flight. Its getting very hard to get a
traditional English Breakfast on BA now, and this was
a fairly good effort. The bacon was appalling, but the
sausage very good. too few mushrooms, but really very
good scrambled egg. The roll was hot, and there was
plenty of choice in roll style. I'm still wondering
about that fairy cake however...noon seemed to know
what to do with theirs."
Birmingham to Amsterdam
Breakfast: Sandwich with cheddar and apple. "Since I
don't eat fish either, I also asked for
an alternative. Lucky me: the cheese/mushrooms
sandwiches were finished. I got this sandwich with
'mature cheddar, apple & real ale chutney with
celery' - strange combo, but nice of taste. The woman
in front of me ordered something else than the tuna
sandwiches being served. This was the alternative she
got - cheese with mushrooms. I took this pic over her
shoulder."
Amsterdam to Birmingham
Breakfast: Sandwich with cold chicken and spinach
leafs, the sticker says "Roast chicken lemon,
mayonnaise & baby spinach. Eehh..."
Budapest to London
Breakfast: Egg mayo in a roll, 'Kulu Kuli' cake,
yoghurt. "The napkin was the tastiest."
Madrid to London LHR
Dinner: "Somewhat edible. Fish/potato salad on a bed
of lettuce, bread/butter, chocolate biscuits, orange
juice. I'm not a fish fan."
