Anguilla is launching a great island wide "Prix Fixe Summer"

The island of Anguilla is launching a great island wide summer promotion, Prix Fixe Summer, that truly offers the best of the island at a much more affordable price. Known for their fabulous cuisine and great accommodations, their summer menu is offering prix fixe three course tasting menus at some of the island's top restaurants throughout the summer and the hotels are offering Stay for Seven and pay for Five

Anguilla is located in the Eastern Caribbean and is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the lesser Antilles. Approximately 35 square miles, it is flat and comprised of coral, limestone and covered mostly with rock, sparse scrub oak, few trees and some salt ponds. The climate and Temperature range about 80°F monthly mean temperature and water temperatures generally are between 70 and 80°F. The island's rich history is embodied in its culture and heritage. From the ancient Amerindian settlements through European colonization to its 1967 Revolution, these and other events are woven into the tapestry of Anguilla's life and passed on with honor and pride from generation to generation.

Anguilla is home to a veritable colony of artists who have come from many parts of the world to join Anguilla's noted local artists in the pursuit of their creative muse. Their diverse art forms include pottery, sculpture, handcrafts, paintings, photography and woodcraft. Boat Racing is Anguilla's national sport, and the island hosts countless regattas throughout the year. Additionally, cruising and sailing to many of Anguilla's offshore cays or secluded beaches can be a great way to experience some of the island's most pristine places. Anguilla's warm and calm waters are teeming with Wahoo, marlin, swordfish and yellow and black Þn tuna. Regular Þshing charters, operated by experienced Anguillians can guide you to some of the Caribbean's Þnest Þshing spots. More scenic, aquatic activities are also available. Shoal Bay Scuba, located on Shoal Bay, offers a class act parasailing excursion that takes visitors to new heights, while paddleboats, sailboats, and windsurÞng rentals are available for those content with staying closer to land. While many consider Anguilla to be off the beaten path, the island is easily accessible by air and by sea. The island's main gateways are Puerto Rico, St. Maarten/Martin, Antigua and St. Kitts.

Known as "the cuisine capital of the Caribbean," Anguilla's award-winning dining scene offers discerning travelers a supreme selection of gastronomic diversions. Ranging from elegant gourmet eateries to casually chic beach front bistros and bars to festive roadside grills, all can be found across our island.

The Prix Fixe Summer will run from June 1st through August 31st. With one of the Caribbean's most acclaimed dining scenes, Anguilla's restaurateurs are putting a twist on the popular Restaurant Week promotions in many US cities and welcoming summer 2009 guests with $35 and $45 prix fixe pricing for three course menus for the entire season (excluding beverages, gratuity and tax; regular a la carte menus also offered).The $45 menu will be served up at Blanchards, Veya, Koal Keel, CuisinArt Resort & Spa's Cafe and The Old Caribe. Menus for $35.00 will be featured at Tasty's, Roy's Bayside Grill, Ripples, E's Oven, and Kuyah.

The accommodations sector is offering two nights free for a seven night booking. Participating properties feature a mix of the island's renowned luxury resorts, Charming Escape Collection small hotels, and spectacular private villas. Offering Stay for Seven Pay for Five are Malliouhana Resort & Spa; Cap Juluca (excluding June); Paradise Cove Resort; Meads Bay Beach Villas; Spyglass Villa; Temenos Villas; Anguilla Great House; Carimar Beach Club; Ku Resort, and Rum Punch Villa.  Frangipani Beach Resort and Cap Juluca (excluding June) are also offering Stay for Four Pay for Three. Some blackouts and restrictions may apply.
