Travel industries are also tweaking their offerings to better appeal to customers. Last week, Avis debuted “Avis Now” at more than 50 locations in the USA. Members of the car rental company’s Avis Preferred loyalty program can click on its app and perform a range of functions, from extending their rental to changing the car they’ve been assigned to one they like better. It will be offered in some international markets in the next several months.
In regard to customers, “we re-engineered the entire car rental process to give them complete control over their experience via their smartphones,’’ Avis Budget Group’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer Scott Deaver said in an email. “More importantly, the new experience saves them time and eliminates stress and uncertainty along the way.’’
