This is because the drivers of Dublin Bus are conducting yet another 48-hour work stoppage that is adversely affecting more than 4,00,000 passengers who regularly travel throughout this region.
Another strike that would continue for over 13 days is scheduled to take place next month.
The five Trade Unions who are representing the workers at Dublin Bus have planned to march onto Leinster House next week. And, this would be a part of their continuing dispute over payment.
John Murphy, SIPTU organizer said that all the parties involved in the dispute need to have meaningful discussions. He also said that currently the appropriate time has arrived for the relevant parties who would be able to resolve the issue. This would enable them to steer clear of further disruption to the commuting travellers. He said that they are the customers so they should not suffer.
He then went on to add that they have no other choice but to call for strikes when nobody wishes to talk to them about how the disputes can be solved. www.travelandtourworld.com
