In a novel development for the travel industry, a festival of Chinese feature films is going on the road around the UK later this month as a joint promotion between Manchester Airport and Hainan Airlines.
Hainan Airlines started flying direct to Beijing four times a week from Manchester last June, making Manchester the only airport outside London with a direct service to mainland China. The airline flies the A330-300 with 292 seats, including 32 Business Class with lie-flat beds.
Manchester Airport head of marketing Patrick Alexander said: “Since the start of our direct service, China is now within touching distance of much more of the UK population thanks to our wide catchment area.
“With the chance to win flights and the opportunity to meet people from the airline, the festival is a great opportunity for film buffs, travel fans or Chinese enthusiasts to learn more about this exciting brand and destination.”
