A popular Southwest Florida tradition continues, as The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club will host its annual “SummerJazz on the Gulf” concert series for the 32nd consecutive year. The fun, free concert series combines a diverse array of Jazz entertainment with truly beautiful views of the Gulf, stunning sunsets, refreshing breezes, and a relaxing atmosphere. Each concert is held on the AAA Four-Diamond resort’s picturesque Watkins Lawn overlooking the Gulf. “SummerJazz on the Gulf” will take place one Saturday evening per month June-September, and each concert will be from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. This year’s concerts will be on Saturday, June 17; Saturday, July 8; Saturday, August 19; and Saturday, September 16, 2017.
According to Susan Savino, Director of Conference Services at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club and organizer of the annual concert series, the 2017 “SummerJazz on the Gulf” line-up is:
· The Betty Fox Band – Saturday, June 17, 2017
· Pocket Change – Saturday, July 8, 2017
· Gloria West and the Gents – Saturday, August 19, 2017
· Late Night Brass – Saturday, September 16, 2017.
“We are very pleased to bring back three of our most popular SummerJazz bands this year, as well as feature the very talented Gloria West and her gifted band as a new addition to our line-up,” said Savino. “The Betty Fox Band is a great way to kick-off this year’s SummerJazz, as Betty and her band always do a terrific job and are such a crowd favorite. This promises to be a terrific concert series.”
Hotel guests will receive complimentary parking at the resort. For those not staying at the resort there will be parking just north of the hotel at Lowdermilk Park, with free parking provided to those with a Naples beach sticker, and free trolley service to the resort and back. The Betty Fox Band will kick-off this year’s “SummerJazz on the Gulf” concert series on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Known for its blues and funk-infused soul, the band is led by talented songstress Betty Fox. The band was an International Blues Challenge finalist (in the top 8 of 150 bands), and is a two-time winner of Creative Loafing’s “Best of the Bay” as Tampa/St. Petersburg’s “Best Local Blues Act” in a reader’s poll. The band has opened for such artists as Mavis Staples, Ronnie Earl, Lucky Peterson, Jimmy Thackery, The Meter Men, and Damon Fowler. This will mark their fifth appearance at SummerJazz on the Gulf.
